HELP! How do I get wheel caps off?
I bought a used set of rims. I'm unfamiliar with wheel center caps or how to remove them. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to insert something to pry them off. They don't seem to twist off. I could apply more force but more force in the wrong direction would only risk damaging the caps or rims. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

Push them out from behind.

I didn't want to force them, I did bang them with the tire iron a bit.
But then how do I get them off if the wheel is mounted? Can't go through the disc. |
Taking the wheel off and pushing from the back is best.

I'm not talking about the decorative center cap with the Mazda logo, but the whole wheel cap that covers the lug nuts. I'm guessing I can push it out from behind, for now.
But once I put the wheels on, the wheel caps cover the lugs and bolt holes. So once I put the wheels ON, and the lugs ON, and then put the cap ON. How do I get it off without wrecking anything? |
WTH are you talking about? What wheel is this?

Do you have spinner hubcaps installed?
|
Please don't tell me you are using steel rims and plastic wheel caps.

It's an RS Limix wheel.... I got a reply from the person who sold it to me. The center cap has a bunch of screws around the rim, one is actually there to remove the cap, the others are decorative. I'm glad I didn't simply try to pound it out.
