Getting some new rims

So I want to get some new rims and I really like these:
http://socalsales.us/images/static/DSC_3272.jpg

They are the same size as the stock rims but I was wondering if anyone has heard of this rim brand before?

They're called Sparkle (gay I know) by DZ Wheels.

Any thoughts?

AntonToo 02-28-2009 12:32 AM

18x8 at 35 offset is not very good

How about these?

I'm waiting till shipment at the end of march for these in 18X8.5 35 offset

YaXMaNGTO 02-28-2009 12:43 AM

Not a bad looking wheel, but, the word "SPARKLE" is not going to be on my car. Anywhere. Nope. Not gonna happen.

thebiggdaddy 02-28-2009 12:58 AM

To be honest, I think those rims look cheap. Then again, it also depends on your budget.

Aipex8 02-28-2009 02:01 AM

Not bad looking rims, but I don't think I could get past the name. I'd be thinking of this every time I walked up to my car:

TopGear8 02-28-2009 02:19 AM

I would say save up a bit more and get something that fit's the 8 a little better in terms of style and size.

DOMINION 02-28-2009 03:45 AM

Yea man save up. Get 18x8.5 & 18x9.5 with a 35 off set or 18x8.5 & 18x9.5 32 lol :smoker:

ZumnRx8 02-28-2009 03:58 AM

^Man if only you would have left it like that. Looks soo much better.

Rotr8 02-28-2009 10:31 AM

TBH they look like a really bad knock off of the Volk RE30s

They look nothing like the Volks RE30s, the spokes shape are way different and they dont have a lip like the RE30s.....Actually they look like SSR type F knock offs- These are SSR type F

+1 on OFF TOPIC posts :D:

+1 on "Sparkle" getting the thumbs down.

Zero: Aim higher bro. Save up some more and get something a little more 'suitable' for your 8.

CTrx8 03-02-2009 10:44 AM

oh no...Mr. Sparkle.

AntonToo 03-02-2009 10:48 AM

I disagree - the way the lettering is uniformly distributed in circle no one will be trying to figure out wtf it actually says - could be "KLESPAR"

Their 35mm offset is what would worry me most - as it would influence steering wheel effort and suspension geometry.

Atilla 03-02-2009 10:51 AM

omfg - i just noticed it said sparkle on the wheels - :icon_no2:

i agree that the lettering may look like it spells something else - but all it takes is him to stop at the correct angle and anybody who see's it will read it correctly as "SPARKLE" haha.

Gauge 03-04-2009 08:39 PM

I like your wheels Zumn!

Anyways I just seen these sparkle rims on ebay in red & black. They look good but the fitting is out of wack. And I dont want to tell people my rims are called Sparkle when they ask lol But overall nice rims for $600

Ross_Dawg 03-04-2009 10:14 PM

HAHAAH not the first time ive heard that.
Did anyone recognize the Thread starter maybe wants "SPARKLE" wheels for his sparkling teeth? HAHA he looks like a fruit, look at his Avatar LMAO. :fruit:

Zerotide 03-05-2009 06:32 PM

Thanks for the input... I decide to not go with these rims. I really want to get some 5 spokes like Aipex8s... what size and offset do you recommend for stock suspension. Wanna stay 18" if at all possible but go wider.

pdxhak 03-05-2009 06:36 PM

I've seen Aipex8's wheels in person and they are hot! I'm sure he will chime in with size and offset.

pdxhak 03-05-2009 06:39 PM

Ah I just checked JIC's website and you can get them 18x9.5 +38. You can run anywhere from 245-265. Perfect!

Zerotide 03-05-2009 11:14 PM

Any idea of the price on those?

pdxhak 03-05-2009 11:23 PM

I believe Fluid Motorsports sells them. Send him a PM to see what he can do for you.

Ross_Dawg 03-06-2009 12:38 AM

Zumn I think some R-Magic eyelids would pull your car together nicely :)

agreed . that car looks like garbage

Aipex8 03-06-2009 01:36 AM

I've got 18x8.5 +38 with 245/40s. They run about $300 a wheel. Fluid had them on sale for around $200 a wheel a couple of months ago if you've got a time machine.

Atilla 03-06-2009 09:54 AM

soo no sparkle wheels??

WHEW! Good job people...we saved another one :D:

Thanks for that personal attack there real nice. Yes I realize the rims say "sparkle" I just thought some people were mature enough and secure enough in their sexuality to look past that.

I just got myself these:

http://www.hvresource.com/anton/3-4ViewWheels.jpg

18x8.5 38mm offset - $1040 including shipping, lugnuts stems and hubrings.

as far as offset you want something between 35 and 50 - the higher the offset the deeper the wheel sits in the fender, 35 ofset sticks out ever so slightly in the front.

thanks....he did say he is looking for 5 spoke design - just giving him some ideas...

Zerotide 03-07-2009 09:56 PM

Thanks anton those are some hot rims. I kinda want rims where the spokes sit flush with the lip and are concave in towards the center if you get what I'm saying.
