Falken 512 tires

Ayone out there have any experience with the Falken 512 or the Cooper Zeon 2XS or ZPT tires?? Im thinking of switching to a set of 245/40r18's on my 8. Thanks

the falken 512's have been ok for me. they don't have the grip of the std tyres (re-40) dry or wet. the tread seems to wear fast as I have high wear on the tyres outside edge. I'd say they aren't up to the std of the Rx-8's handling and only recommend them for a family sedan.

these look a lot better http://www.falkentire.com/615micro.htm

overall falken makes good tires for the money.

Yes, I agree with the above. I am a big fan of Falken. I had those tires on my old car, and they were very nice. However, with that being said I don't think they are up to snuff for the 8. Note that they are traction A rated tires. I won't live with anything less than AA on this car, but I don't have to worry about snow very often either... One nice thing about them is that they were very quiet and provided a nice ride.

The falken 512's are "decent" all-seasons...as decent as an all-season can get really. If you want grip, I concur with the RT-615 recommendations...just don't try to drive in winter conditions with those :).

Thanks for the feedback. I went with the Avon Tech 550 A/S. Love em!
