Evo-R Adjustable Endlinks Installed

4 Attachment(s)
Just took some pics of the Evo-R Adjustable Endlinks installed...I like the way it drives a lot...I'm sure the corner-weighting had a lot to do with it, but the rear end is a lot more planted...no more squirmy-ness...it tends to teeter (a-la M3) now instead of sweeping (a-la stock RX-8).

My thanks to J for the endlinks and the support!

Enjoy the pics...

Very nice. Those are Autoexe, correct?

kinchu007 04-17-2008 08:02 PM

Almost...they're Evo-R.

Details for the difference are here: https://www.rx8club.com/australia-new-zealand-forum-37/autoexe-adjustable-endlink-127842/

I'm not sure I would feel safe using knockoff suspension components, but that's just me

SouthFL 04-23-2008 07:03 AM

^ It's a turnbuckle with two ball joints with threaded rod. You can piece it together out of hardware and it will do the job. As long as the ball joint is decent and the hardware is high grade, you can't go wrong.

r0tor 04-23-2008 07:09 AM

not to mention it seems your getting the same stuff for literally 1/2 the price... silly overpriced JDM parts

kinchu007 04-23-2008 09:28 AM

From all my reading I agree with SouthFL...when it comes to endlinks it's all about the ball joints...and from looking at pics of the Evo-R ones I'm convinced they're at least as good as stock...heim joints would have been better, but I hear people wear them out on the street too quickly and they're just a nuissance.

Looks great! Had them on my 8. Handles great at coners!

Kinchu, does the rear endlink shorten enough to equal the rear OEM link in length (about 8.5cm centerline of threaded rod to centerline of threaded rod)?

The Centerline measurement is what's key, as that's what determines the articulated length.

Could you please clarify? Only reason why I ask is because I just tried a set of Whiteline adj. endlinks and the rear set wouldn't shorten enough to match the length of the OEM endlink.

fd3s777 04-28-2008 08:17 AM

from this photo below it is more than 8.5 in the center. Cuz I took photo above the endlink and ruler is below photo seems shorter measurement. https://img255.imageshack.us/img255/...img0401rk8.jpg

SouthFL 04-28-2008 08:26 AM

^

Edit: I think, simply, the wrong pic was attached. Perhaps you were referring to the shortened pic? This is getting confusing rather quickly. I just need a real measurement, lol. Thanks.

TeamRX8 04-28-2008 06:47 PM

the rears are short enough, but the only way to get it this way is that one end has to be unbolted and removed from it's mounting hole to make the adjustment, note that it's one male and one female part screwed together, not two males or two females joined by a single mating turnbuckle counterpart

none of the turnbuckle style ends will be short enough using off the shelf parts, they have to be cut shorter at a minimum
