End link bolt wont turn
 

Im trying to replace my end links on the front and i cant get the bolt to actually turn only by itself. its twisting the stud as well so the when trying to twist the bolt the whole thing is turning and it wont come loose..

so frustrated

iirc theres a recessed allen bolt in the stud (not sure what to call it) hold the stud with an allen key and use a wrench instead of a socket

ok well nevermind about that, now it seems that the one that broke at the blue part the nut wont turn because the tools cant get a grip on it because its almost like it is stripping the nut. any suggestions?

if its broke anyway....turbo socket and impact gun

what if i only have basic tools? and also is it safe to drive with only one end link attached to both ends and the the other broken with only the 4 blue studs attached to the sway bar?

heres a pic, the other side i installed the new endlink already so its fully attached

if you have a grinder i guess you could very carefully cut it off.

I got a buddy that does but hes an hour away, wont be able to get to him till saturday...

is it okay to drive still for this one to be how it is and the other side fully attached ?

a grinder is a basic tool btw. im sure you could drive it and be ok but i would want it fixed asap. my old subie had one broke for a while before i noticed it

ya my dad has basic basic tools no power tools really. and I was told that if i undo both side so it doesnt "bind" in any way is better to drive on then having 1 attached and 1 not

You should be good with both unattached for now as long as the sway bar isn't bouncing off of anything.

Watch the handling with it disconnected...it will make the car handle much differently.

Most likely it will make the rear much livelier ;)

If you are going to replace the link anyway just grab it with a pair of vicegrips..it doesn't matter if you wreck it or not :)
