dunlop or pirelli
im looking for snow tires now. which are better the dunlop winter sport M3 or the pirelli snowsport? thanks.

You can wait for people's opinions which are likely to lean in either direction -- I have the M3s therefore think they rock... or go to www.tirerack.com and research for yourself.

well the dunlop crushes the pirelli in all tests (AKA fantastic reviews)... so i think they are better. Especially considering that they are the same price.
|
I bought pirreli's last year cheaper than dunlops and they worked fine. I just looked on tirerack and dunlops are cheaper so might as well get those and save 80 bucks.
|
I got the Pirelli's last winter, too. Worked great, no problems.

I like the Pirellis that I have on my car...they are great on ice and snow.....don't really like them in the dry... they are a bit squirrelly, but they don't see a lot of that here in the winter anyway....the best we get is constant rain :)
It would probably help if I didn't push them so hard in the corners....ZOOM ZOOM ! |
I just got the Dunlop M3s. I went down to 17" and narrower and expect the traction to be great - from what I've read. No noticeable road noise either and handling is very good.

I just installed Dunlop Wintersport M3 in stock size. We've had a couple of light snows, and I'm extremely pleased. Excellent traction, road noise is minimal. You definitely give up some road feel, but it's winter in Michigan. Roads are crappy and I'm done with high G turns for a number of months. Even with light snow, the 8 was immobilized with stock tires. The M3s are grippy to the point that the trac control comes on only rarely. Highly reccommend! (no, I'm not a Dunlop dealer!)
