Does raceroots have tokico d-specs in stock
 

I sent raceroots and email and never got a reply. I am inquiring about tokico d-specs and if the have them in stock. Also, how do those with s-techs compare to tein basic coil overs?

D Specs are crap. I have known three people with them and all three had issues. Well one is still having issues getting them warrantied. Look into Tein BASIS coilovers, they are nice for the price. They don't offer damping or rebound adjustment but that is useless to you anyway and is a useless feature on coilovers under $2,000.00 for the most part anyway. The Tein BASICS are a step up from the BASIS

I would like the adjustment though, make for a more still ride, or less for long road trips. Basics don't seem too expensive is why I asked how well they perform. 9k, it's hard to read you sometimes, don't know if I should take you serious or sarcastic. I wouldn't think you would give me false info though.

I don't know first hand about the DSpecs but I agree with everything else 9k said, especially about the adjustability being useless on cheaper dampers.

1.3 litters of furry has dspec and he loves them, I can't say he ever adjusts them or not, he has had them for 2-3 years now. Maybe I should do basics then.

Research. It all depends what your use is. the adjustments on the cheap stuff most buy don't do crap, it's just gimicking BS.

Charles, how do you feel about tein basis or basics?

All of the issues I have seen have been suspension sagging related. Some with low mileage and some after a few thousand miles. It's fairly common here as well, there have been a few threads about it, just search.

No doubt adjusting them may change things in terms of feel but I highly doubt each shocks adjustment will be equal and so it makes that feature essentially useless. But I would be curious to see a full set on a shock dyno.

I agree - I've had the D-spec and RB spring combo for over 4 years (and 60000 miles!) and they are working very well, on sstreet and on track. I have a good setting and no longer adjust them, but it makes a clear difference in the dampening when they are adjusted. I installed them by hand, carefully, and they have worked very well. (I think the springs are starting to sag a bit, but that's a different issue)

addendum, seeing 9k's post - isn't suspension sagging a SPRING issue, not a shock issue? The shock/dampening seems fine.

No, it's usually a shock issue in case of the D specs. Yours proves my point although they did last 60k which is pretty good I guess :dunno:. The shocks suck IMO, most that I have seen fail have been with much, much less mileage. Springs can sag but it's rare and all of the D Spec issues I have seen have been the shocks themselves.
