Cooper Zeon RS3-S

Searched and read a number of posts. What I would like is direct feedback on anyone who has used the Zeon RS3-S tires on their RX-8. How was the mileage, grip, feel, etc.?

Thanks,

I've used them. I thought the grip and feel was outstanding, even in wet conditions. They were a bit on the noisy side, but that didn't bother me. I just replaced them a few days ago, and got 18,000 miles out of them. The warranty is 20,000 miles, so I got some $ pro-rated off my replacement set. I was very happy with them, and would recommend them.

For a max-performance summer tire, might as well go with the proven Sumitomo HTR Ziii if you're on a budget but want an awesome tire. New Hankook evo2 looks ok too though I thought the first evo was imprecise and had soft sidewalls; not sure if they improved that on the new model. Kumho SPT was (maybe still is) my favorite in it's category based on feel, so precise and sharp, great feedback at the limit but has relatively less grip than Sumi and Hankook.

If you will be doing even 20% track driving, just step it up to the tires made for it (Extreme Performance) like BFG Rivals (my top choice), Dunlop Zii (2nd choice) or Hankook RS3. They'll last longer.

I have a lot of personal and researched experience with many tires, so it largely depends on what you want from your tire and the environment you drive in.
