Continental ExtremeContact DWS Tire

Anybody try these tires yet? I've read good reviews on them.

We just got a set for my wife's RDX. They are quiet but have pretty soft sidewalls. If you need an all-season tire that can handle some occasional snow, and don't mind giving up some dry traction, these look like a good choice.

I've had them on for about a month. A little less grip but quieter than the summer Kumho's I had on there before. I haven't driven on anything but dry pavement yet so I can't really comment on their seasonal performance.

Sounds like what im looking for. I moved to a rural area and I drive 25 miles on a straight 2 lane highway to work and back. I need quite more than grip right now.

Currently on my 8. Very quiet tires. But I've only had them for about 1k miles. I also heard a lot of good reviews also on them. I do a lot of spirited driving around push it a little on corners and turns. It's not meant to perform but they have been great in Rain and Dry. Winter hasn't hit yet but if they fail during then just going to get dedicated snow tires. But don't plan on driving in snow unless its light flurries.

Yesterday was first time driving in the rain with them. Not bad at all, at least I didnt brake traction taking off from a red light. I do like the fact that they're very quite too. These tire will just have to do for now. I dont have the extra loot to buy another set of tires for the winter.

Just had them put on the other day and they do seem to make the car ride smoother and quieter. Having some other issues but don't think they are related to the tires (see other recent post) but have also read lots of good things about them, talked to some Mazda shops and they are all saying they are great tires.
I have been running winters all year round in the past but I will give it a try this time and see how they deal with the Northern Virginia weather. :)

Seriously? :suspect:

I have these tires on my DD and they have been fantastic so far. It's been raining like crazy here in NY and the tires have performed very well in the wet. The dry grip is excellent as well. No opinion on snow performance becasue we havent had snow yet this year

I just picked up a set of these from the rack as replacements for my Yokohama ADVAN Neovas that I burned through WAY TOO QUICK.

Looking forward to the quieter ride and more than a single season of tread life.

Great tires. I'm using them since January of last year.
Quiet, sufficient grip, very good treadwear. Even increased my fuel economy over the worn-out factory tires.
No snow here, but them being all-season performance tires helps me a lot in dealing with the rain we get in the winter. I would not hesitate to pick up another set once these wear out (which will not happen for a while, judging from the minimal wear they show after 14 months and 20K miles).

used to have them on my 3 series. really really liked them, they more than handled the winter snows in WI.

ShellDude 05-21-2011 02:06 AM

i've got 17" graspics for the snow. two winters with them and i've just barely put a dent in the tread.

I should have the continentals on by next weekend... they'll probably arrive at my door monday or tuesday. thinking about getting my alignment done too but there's no one local I trust to do the work.
