Clunking suspension ? New owner...

Hey all. I've perused the forum a bit and have tried looking for others with a similar problem. Didn't quite see one so I thought I'd ask.

I've had my 8 for about 3 months, its a 2004 with 60k on it. One thing I've noticed is that it's a fairly bumpy ride, and on roads that aren't nice and smooth, the jostling ride is accompanied by slight rattling/clunking that I can only guess is coming from the suspension. This comes from the front of the car (and possibly the rear? hard to tell). When I'm driving on decently smooth roads, I don't notice this at all. I also don't notice it when accelerating and haven't heard it when cornering.

Unfortunately I don't have any more info on it than that. I'm trying not to be vague. I do have a warranty on the car, but the dealership is far away and I don't think they'd be too helpful.

I guess I'm wondering if these noises are normal or if I should have the suspension looked at. I've heard there are problems with the motor mounts but doubt that is it.
:suspect:

Check the swaybar endlinks. If they aren't positioned correctly or tightened they will make a clunking noise.

I had this checked out when I got my car last week....seemed like too much road noise for coilovers, so I had my mechanic check it out....no suspension problems....he found that my front tires had some feathering, which meant I needed an alignment....but that was just my case, lol

Hmm. I'd like to take a look at the swaybar endlinks/bushings, but I'm not sure if I'd know if they were positioned correctly or if the bushings were going, though I could probably tell if they were loose :). Is there any DYI's on that? I don't know my way around suspensions.

If not, I think I'll drop it by my local mechanic and have him take a look. That or have Les Schwab take a gander at it
