Can u put 16s on an rx8
 

just wondering if you can fit 16" rims on an rx-8. I was talking to someone and he said try to put 16s on there.. 1st of 16" snow tires are cheaper than 17 / 18... if i were to use 16" rims can i use 225/55/16. if not what would be a good size snow tire to use w/ 16" rims...

Don't think so... the brakes won't fit. I believe 17s are the smallest that will fit.

If your RX-8 came with 16s, then sure! ;) Base model and all that... If it came with 18s and has the larger front brakes, then so far the answer is no - and believe me, many of us tried quite hard to find 16s that would fit for the cheaper winter tire options! There were rumours that the OEM RX-8 16s would fit over the bigger brakes of the cars equipped with 18" wheels, but I haven't seen anyone here that has tried it - and I couldn't find take-off RX-8 16" wheels in time for winter anyway.

Only if your car is a bone stock non optioned automatic transmission (AT) equipped RX-8.

Anything with the sport pkg on up (S, T and GT) and you will not be able to get the wheels to fit over the larger brake calipers that come with the option pkgs.
