Pico 04-21-2010 11:09 PM

WoW
That's a pretty aggressive stance DAN

J03K1LLARX8 04-21-2010 11:20 PM

Damn +13 is crazy. Looks clean with the spacers.

imput1234 04-22-2010 12:32 AM

looks great dan, illest works for sure.

Im_DANomite 04-22-2010 09:48 AM

haha, i don't think it's quite illest/hellaflush/fatlace approved. those guys are extreme!! my 8 is daily driven and just doesn't do well with all the potholes and inclines around here... :(

I love the JDM stiching adds a personal touch to the car.

Hi Guys,

I need a bit of help here. I've been reading every work rim thread possible and everyone is giving me different answers.

I have a 2004 rx-8 with stock suspension. I was just wondering what is the most agressive fitment possible without having to roll the fenders or buy a coilover?

Is 18x9.5 +38 possible for the front and rear? If so what size tires should I get?

shifty 04-28-2010 12:39 PM

I have 18 x 9.5 at +38 but you get a 4x4 look which you cant avoid but you can still lower it .

richy648 04-28-2010 12:55 PM

Ah ok I see what you mean. What tires are you running btw?

edwinjung 04-28-2010 01:08 PM

Anyone have the GNOSIS GS2? I'm looking at getting the Matte Deep Black ones for my WB.

That combo will work
Its what I'm running

Tire size should be 265/35/18

Good Luck

richy648 04-28-2010 01:23 PM

Thanks guys!

Pico 04-28-2010 08:47 PM

^ Keep in mind that im running coilovers on my set up and the ride height is lower than it would be with the stock suspension set or lowering springs.

J8635621 04-28-2010 09:37 PM

and you have more camber

Pico 04-28-2010 09:42 PM

Of course there's more camber LOL
Negative camber is pretty much unavoidable the lower you go without camber kits etc etc...

But I know you knew that ;)

J8635621 04-28-2010 10:01 PM

Just saying because at stock height it would change how the wheels "fit." With my car lowered on MS springs, 9.5 +38 seemed ok but after putting the coilovers on it became "sunken." Camber does make a difference.

Ahhhhhhhh 11r's

I was going to buy his wheels in the winter but decided GS finish would look better with the color of the car.

Still only 2 of us with this wheel at this point -- on this forum anyway

+30 rear

Pico 05-10-2010 01:28 PM

Steve you should touch up your calipers and rotor hats. that would really help with the overall appeal of the wheel

Thanks!
I'm located near Flemington. There's a bunch 8 guys up this way and were always doing something to our cars.
HEY............ Get those dam Ray's out of here;)

Look like this thread is really coming back-- excellent

Cf05 05-10-2010 07:05 PM

thanks for the info pico and no worries steve, if I do +38 all around will they still be flush or should I get +30 all around and will that require fender rolling I've been curious for a while but now its getting close to the time where I get to pull the trigger and I'm getting super excited lol

J8635621 05-10-2010 08:43 PM

Depends on tire size, how low your car is, and camber. +30 all around or +38 all around are both doable

stevebiggie 05-10-2010 09:19 PM

and dont be scared of the fender rolling, just saying because i was scared of messing my car up but its so easy, eating food is harder lol =)

stevebiggie 05-10-2010 09:22 PM

nice wheels spence, id bet ur happy ass hell, i was lmao
what color is your 8? white im assuming

White is right.. and honesty steve I was soo excited today.. then guess what... just now Ross Dawg in my other thread pointed out the worst/best news ever.. look at my picture I posted...

I ordered (4) 18x9.5 and 2 of the 4 were 18x8.5 so tommorrow I've gotta deal with a bunch of b.s. all day trying to ship them back and what not. NOT COOL WORK. NOT COOL AT ALL. lol.

I didn't even notice the mess up and probably wouldnt have till I had them ready to mount.. so im kinda happy.

and not to mention my cars been on blocks for a week and now will be even longer. hence why I'm now in a cruddy mood.

stevebiggie 05-10-2010 10:11 PM

holy crap
tht does suck
u strictly ordered 18x9.5?
well at least theyll send you the right ones
but it does sucks tht ur car is on blocks
do some work to the wheel wells and under the car if you need to while its up
but ull be even more ecstatic once theyre on trust me

Cf05 05-11-2010 12:19 AM

speaking orders getting screwed up, what are some good work wheels dealers that will work with me and put together a well priced wheel/tire combo any suggestions would be awesome

edit: I checked the dealers list there aren't really any around me that are well priced so if they are well priced and have good service/a good rep i'd love to know thanks

Pico 05-11-2010 12:34 AM

^ Ravspec in ny

Good prices and free shipping- check them out

As stated +30 and +30 are both doable.

+38 is what im running and they flush the +30 will be 8mm wider making a more aggressive stance. Depending how low and the profile tire you run the car might need a roll in the rear. But remember this, wheels that are 9.5 wide will have the same concaved look with both the +30 and +38 offsets. Work measures their offsets from the back spacing on the wheel hub. the only time the concave will look less deep is with the 8.5 and smaller diameter wheels.

Take a look at the pics I've post a page or two back in this thread and you will see that the +38 looks just fine

Cf05 05-11-2010 12:51 AM

^yep I saw those your wheels/car look beautiful. Thanks for the tip on Ravspec I'll give em a call soon, I'm soo excited haha cant wait to get some new wheels!

Pico 05-11-2010 12:53 AM

^ No prob. Thanks & Good Luck!
