Those look great. I'd prefer the 19's like the previous BB with the RE's.

^ nice wheels but you loss some serious lips for going with such high offsets

RA-Eight 01-11-2009 05:20 PM

I fell victim to the pothole monster. Thought I came out unscathed when I checked my front wheels. A few days later, discovered it was the rear driver side that took the damage. The lip is bent and air leaks.

Any suggestions on a fix? Anyone used or heard of Wheels America? They charge a flat fee of $129/wheel. The cost also includes powdercoating. I may consider sending all 4 in for a flat black center.

i got my front passenger ce28 fixed by wheels america and i would have to say that they are ok... what happened was the lip got bent pretty bad like the shape of a V from me skidding into a curb. i brought it to them and got it fixed for about $200.

anyways the reason why i say they are ok is because the bent is still a little visible to me because i know where it is and the paint job quality isn't that great. the color a little off, its like a slightly different shade. all in all i would give them a 7/10. well i guess i cant judge all the franchise shops out there, but the one where i went to was in Union city CA. BTW good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I can't imagine a perfect match even if they got the color code from Rays specifically. I don't think I'd have to worry too much on the match if I go all 4 for a flat black finish. If I keep the same color than they would only work on the anodized lip.

Other than the match how was the quality of paintwork/powdercoat? Any running, flaking, orange peel, etc.?

pdxhak 01-12-2009 11:00 AM

Anyone know if Rays paints or powder coats their wheels?

Nopstnz8 01-12-2009 12:29 PM

They definately powdercoat all of their wheels because I know my GTS and the TE37 are. Also, mine has not scratched at all on the powdercoat, so I know for sure they have been. Also, when I ordered them, Rishie told me they were powdercoated.

Endless Rotaries 01-12-2009 12:32 PM

It depends on the wheel, FYI.

Some are paint, powdercoat, or Anodized.

Rishie

unfortunately, no. I can get tires but I need to get my fenders rolled. My rims are in houston at my house and I'm in san antonio for college. So I'm going to have to roll the fenders in SA, then go to houston to get tires and have it all mounted. Problem is finding a weekend or I have to wait till spring break. So hopefully it wont be too long, but spring break at latest I think.

416to212 03-11-2009 11:09 AM

nice rim 8 maniac....
ive got them with the gold....

first time ive seen them in a custom color...theyre gonna look saweet

Im_DANomite 03-13-2009 12:24 PM

not all wheels from RAYS are powdercoated. majority of them are painted. same goes with work wheels.

Rotr8 04-21-2009 01:32 PM

OK so I am completely angry and frustrated,,,
I am looking for somplace to order the black anodized fasteners that come with just about any two piece Volk/Rays wheel... I have contacted Mackin Industries directly, contacted just about every vendor on here, even some inside people,,, No one will sell me a new set,,,
I currently have the chrome/plain fasteners on two of four wheels and are trying to get all black finish fastener bolts, Ive even gone to a Metrics Co. and they dont have anything close...
I cannot believe that these are unobtainable and its just a 'tuff shit' situation,,, If anyone has any help or any way of secure 40 fastener bolts that have the same dimensions as the ones on our wheels please, please PM me...
This is rediculous that not a single inside source can lead to a result...
If there is anyone who would even like to trade thier black fasteners for some polished/chrome fasteners that would be helpful too...
