If you went with 18x8.5's you could still stretch the stock tires on. 19x8.5 +38 all around is what I have. Flush with the fenders but no rubbing. My 245/35 tires are fairly close to the stock diameter; just a little bit taller. However, the GTS/SF wheels are both blingy wheels that don't really look good unless they're big and wide with low offsets. Drop the front instead of raising the rear if you're going for some kind of dragster look.
Thanks Whitehot. Man ya'll are great! I am super excited to get this project started. Have upholstery and paint mods in mind, a certain kit, which will remain nameless at this time, the SF wheels are a for sure now...I have kei-office eyelids installed, and a few minor mods. Nothing to the engine, will be done, except some graphics to the entire set up of covers. I just dont need a cold air intake, but have thought about changing the exhaust. I just haven't found the right 'throat" I'm looking for yet! ;) Lowering the front a bit I think is exactly the look that I want. Hopefully by this time next year she'll be show ready. :D: |

I got a question to all the fellow RAYS wheel owners, I would like to know where is the best place to purchase some?! To be specific, I'd like to buy some SF Challenge's in RMC finish..
|
To be honest, I don't think the SF challenge would look good in chrome. Go with gold. I think gold on a VR would look even better. Keep in mind that you would have to wait for several months for your Volks to come in. imdanomite is selling his right now:

Hey Guys after nearly 2 months of waiting, I have received confirmation that my wheels are finally coming some time next week. I will post pics once they are mounted. What cleaning tools do you guys use to clean your Volks? Now that I spent so much on wheels, I don't want to scratch them up. I know about waxing them and using microfiber towels, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In addition to waxing and polishing, clean them with the same high quality soap you use to wash your car. I wash my wheels inside and out every week. But I have 5 spokes so cleaning the inside is very easy.
Steve @ Evolution is where I got mines from. |
