Make me glad Igot mine when I did 141.00 ea.per rim.19x8

They are not discontinued. Tiredirect just stopped carrying them. :icon_no2:

Alucard 04-27-2009 02:40 AM

I confirmed it with MOMO, they did not discontinue the V10. The rep actually said its a strong seller....btw he has been watching this thread since I posted it up :)

RyanX-8 04-27-2009 02:28 PM

Well then note to MOMO rep:

Can you guys start making a wheel 8in wide +. I won't buy any 18in wheels cuz they are all 7.5 wide. :squint:

YeahYeahYouWere 05-04-2009 09:22 PM

Alucard, you never should have let the cat out of the bag on these. Count me among those who are imitating - I placed my order for these Momo wheels this weekend, discounttiredirect. I had no intention of buying new wheels, and then I saw these, and I knew I had to have them. So, thanks a lot!

As a matter of fact, www.discounttiredirect.com has them on sale right now! I got these (19x8) with Nitto NT555s for under $1400.

I'll be receiving them this Friday I think, so I can hopefully get them on this weekend and get some pictures of them on Winning Blue up there. I'm just sad a drop is totally impractical for where I live :(

I should also note, when I called this morning to correct a mistake I made in my order, they told me they don't have anymore 19" V-10s in Ohio, but they did have them in Texas, and the site lists their supply as "Low", so jump on it!

I definitely know the feeling of not being able to drop due to area. I had some bad luck the day after I installed my rims. Luckily it wasn't too bad. Loving the look of the rims and love the fact that its a rare find on the rx8's.

We just need a few more colors to complete the voltron team!

gray, yellow, red, blue .... any other colors?

YeahYeahYouWere 05-05-2009 07:56 PM

Turns out, they'll be delivered on Thursday (assuming the UPS man has the sense to drop them at the apartment office). Hopefully I can duck out of work a little bit early and pick them up to go get them mounted. I could do it myself, but I only have my generic little Mazda spare tire jack, and I just don't feel like doing it. Plus, I want to make sure it's done right the first time.

Hopefully have pics of them on a WB by Thursday night. Of course, I REALLY need to paint my calipers, but it hasn't been warm enough lately, and again my lift equipment is all bush league and I can't drop the cash on new stuff right this moment.

Saw that bad break you caught 'ish, that's a total bummer. But I guess on the upside, it could have always been worse - you could have totally thrashed the tire.

dragonish 05-05-2009 08:08 PM

Interesting you mention the tire...

So I hit the manhole and it gives my right front and left rims a ding. Front is worst (shown in the pic) and a small piece of the rear rim actually broke off (end of spokes on the V). It also sliced the tires and the front tire actually had a tongue like piece of rubber where it almost went through the sidewall. I took it in to a local discount tire direct shop to get it checked out and the guy tells me "you just purchased these and still have the option to buy the tire replacement warranty". I paid a little over 100$ for 5 tire warranties 1 for the bad tire + 4 for going all around. I got my tire replaced and have 4 new warranties on the tires I have now.

Alucard 05-05-2009 08:12 PM

^^ well at least your tire is got fixed... but sooo sad about the rim.

YeahYeahYouWere: Thats weird... they dont offer them anymore on their website... they were on sale a few months ago and I acutally wanted to buy one new rim.... because of some damage :icon_no2: .... did you call them?

YeahYeahYouWere 05-05-2009 08:23 PM

Alucard, I ordered Saturday evening, but being the idiot I am, I accidentally put the Nitto Neogens in my cart instead of the NT555s. So I called them first thing Monday morning and got it ironed out with the tires, and the guy reviewing my order said they didn't have any more 19" V-10s in Ohio (and the site already listed them as out of stock in AZ), but said they have some in Texas if I don't mind waiting an extra day to get them (duh!). So, I think they were probably pretty low on stock and I was lucky to snag a set.

As for needing one, I am pretty sure I saw a single new 19x8 on ebay the other day. Might still be there...?

Alucard 05-05-2009 08:31 PM

damn... ill call them tomrrow and see if i can get one... you gave me hope lol

Alucard 05-05-2009 08:35 PM

ahhhh................they only offer 18's on their site...

YeahYeahYouWere 05-05-2009 08:48 PM

I'd still give them a call - it couldn't hurt. They've always seemed friendly enough for me to deal with. Besides, maybe some other people have ordered singles, so they might have an odd number left and you'll get lucky!

Alucard 05-06-2009 03:17 PM

ok... so I called discount tire today... they have verrrrrrry limited numbers left...

I ordered a new one for me and it will be here monday :)

Well, it was rainy and crappy out today, but I got my new wheels put on today so I decided to take pictures anyway. I know my calipers need paint (badly) and my rotors look crappy, but whatever. These wheels are still tight (like a tiger).

Alucard 05-09-2009 05:28 PM

nice, they look great with the WB, what else do you have planned?

btw you need a drop baddddd now... and paint those calipers.... :D:

YeahYeahYouWere 05-09-2009 07:21 PM

Well, as it stands now, my next major upgrade would be a new exhaust, but having just spent the money on new wheels and tires, I'm gonna have to hold off on that for a while. I would love to get new springs and get it dropped a little bit, but it'd just be impossible. We're actually moving to a new complex with speed bumps soon, so dropping would be a recipe for disaster.

After an exhaust, I'd probably consider a new spoiler or a CF front lip. I want a spoiler that mounts in the existing holes, and the MazdaSpeed spoiler is just too expensive. Also, somehow the spoiler on it now has loosened up a bit, so the right side slides back and forth a few mm if you push on it, so the paint underneath is totally messed up, so I'd need to get that taken care of too.

Also, I think I might try to rig up some amber LED strips in the fender grilles to blink with my flashers. But I don't want to undertake that project just yet, especially because accessing the wires would be more hassle than I want to deal with at present.

Finally, I am considering blacking out the taillights - I think I've devised a plan that would make it pretty easy to do, I just need to order the stuff and take the time to do it.

Oh, and the calipers are next on the list - I already have the paint, the weather around here has just been too cool and damp lately to do it. And I have new front rotors and pads on order too, they just need to get the Hawk Ceramic fronts back in stock at Fluid and then those will get done too.

can you post more pics of your car with the Momos?
i have a winning blue and i have always wanted to know what they would look like.

also where did you get your wheels from?
i can only find 18s

YeahYeahYouWere 05-09-2009 07:51 PM

Twiz, I'll post more pictures as soon as I get a chance. It was a beautiful day today but I never got around to it and now it's too dark lol. I'll get some new ones either tomorrow or Monday if the weather is good. I'll say you can believe me that they look awesome on a WB.

I bought them from www.discounttiredirect.com. They were actually on sale for $150 each, but they're out of 19s there now, though, but you could always call them and see if they think they'll get any more.

YeahYeahYouWere 05-11-2009 06:59 PM
