wow, sorry to hear about that. I've heard this happening to other car clubs too.

Hope they get your wheels soon

Sorry, I was lazy and did not provide enough information...

http://www.rotaryfx.com/product_p/lig1051.htm

I have the rotaryfx.com markers so no reflector and the pic appears to fill but they don't with the vLED's LED's. Probably due to how bright the LED is. I will take a picture with the forgestars to illustrate what I am talking about.

The pic rotaryfx.com has is misleading in my opinion but then again I have not seen them with there LED's.

I had a, I'm gonna F@#$ someone up, moment too when I got mine thanks to Forgestar. Apparently they did not allow enough time for the paint to cure on the rims before packing and shipping them off. So when my installer removed the clear plastic it lifted a small section of the paint on one of the rims the size of a water droplet. I was faced with a delema...send them back and run my old tires that had metal wires sticking out of them or mount them and deal with it cause once you mount a tire to the rim Forgestar won't cover it. I chose the latter as my tires were going to go boom any day now.

Just found out that they actually painted them matte black by mistake... and now it will be 3 weeks (AGAIN!) until they ship out the right ones. I just hope they let the paint cure enough...

Sorry to hear about your situation. When you get the right set, make sure they drilled the lug pattern as an acorn type. Unfortunately for me (and possibly other folks) I got mine with them drilled as a ball seat. I didn't check them before I mounted and balanced my tires and found out after-wards.

They were more than willing to re-drill them, but I would've had to dismount and remount the tires at my expense then ship them. Totally my fault for not checking. So I just use Honda Lugnuts which isn't too bad but not what I wanted.

Regards,

Thanks for the heads up!!! I know the package I got had lugs included so I'm hoping they're the right kind!

I wonder if the demand for Forgestars is really so great that they can't keep up, or if their quality control is just garbage. They seem to have a horrible history of issues...

Interesting. I was wondering about the weight of that sized F14 in that offset.

Has any RX-8 owner had breakage issues with these wheels? I'm trying to decide between the F14's and the 18x10 +38 RPF1's and the 18x10.5 +38 PF01's. These will be used for autocross.

I haven't heard of issues of the F14 on an Rx8, mostly due to our car's low weight contrast to heavier cars that run them like the bimmers, some of the owners have complained about them but again they weigh 800~1000lbs more than our vehicles.

They are in reality, a cast wheel. They state flow formed forged rims, but in reality it's not a true forged wheel. That being said, I've gone over really nasty bumps on back roads and highways all over and still didn't bend them while running stiff coilovers. Now, going off the shoulder of a road where it dropped 4 inches to the ground unexpectedly is another matter and resulted in bending 2 of my rims with the more extreme one having crack on the inner lip. I had a specialist straighten and make a clean cut to weld it up which to date after 10~12k miles, still is holding up fine.

My rims are 18x10 +28 and weigh roughly 21lbs.

Finally got my F14, after like 4+ months wait...

I have to say even photos don't do the wheels justice, you have to see in person to fully realise the aggressive stance these wheels create.

I'm lowered on Tanabe GF + OEM shock, no guard mod etc, no scrub so far, rear guard miss by about 5mm...

Rim and tyre size: the magical 18x10 +42 on 265/35/18 all round, the rear has about 5mm clearance before guard rolling is needed, front tyre is dead on flush.

now the photos:
