Cadillac CTS-V Calipers (2009 up) Brembo J56 Caliper

Hey guys so I am more building my rx8 into a show car and was looking to do a BBK that would not only be a bit cheaper than the run of the mill BBK kits, but also to get a full set of calipers that are in yellow.

You can find CTS-V calipers reasonably priced even new and considering pulling the trigger.

First I know that I will likely do a mounting bracket adapter of some sort that is not an issue.

The issue I am seeing is the CTS-V is a 5x120 bolt pattern. Obviously the RX-8 is 5x114.3 so in theory I will just need to find a 380mm front rotor and a 365mm rear roor (CTS-V rotor sizes) in a 5x114.3 and make the caliper brackets center onto the rotors? Or is there a possiblity to take the rotors to a machine shop and machine a 5x114.3 into them? Not sure if having two bolt pattern holes in a rotor is good (or safe)

The other route to go to a two piece front and rear rotors, but that is extremely expensive. But I consider it the last resort.

Thanks!
Dustin

Thanks for this. Do you know of the compatibility of the mounting if the 240 to the rx8?

I found a 365mm wilwood front brake kit with 2 piece rotors for 1799 and its temping depending on how of a pain and price this turns into .

I cant guarantee it'll be perfect... I'm actually diving into this mod myself, so I'll let you know in a week or so how it went. I'm waiting on some rotors I'm hoping will work.

There's definitely a couple small mods I'm expecting, do we'll see...

Update:
Looks like this is going to work.

Only "mod" was I had to have my Fab Guy open up the Rotor Center Bore to fit the 8, but I'll probably be installing everything next week sometime. I try to take a bunch of pics.

Note: This is definitely not a "Performance Upgrade" and is very much more for Show.

Great! I am curious to see the results!

I got quoted for a r1 concepts bbk at 2100 for fronts. Wilwood said they will also do a custom color for their bbk.

What are you doing for mounts for the calipers?

Its actually a combination of 2 mounting brackets. Sounds sketch, but from the test fit I did, fitment is right on. Very beefy. I might have my Fab Guy just weld them together after I completely build out this kit.

The mount are the 2 links I attached earlier in the thread.
