Brakes & Rotors Pricing
So the Mazda dealership just told me I need to replace my rear brakes plus my front brakes and rotors. Can anyone tell me about what they are paying for the parts on these, the dealer wants almost $900 all together. Its a 2004 Grand Touring RX-8.

Just get some cheap blanks from O'Reilly's and some Hawk HPS pads or something. I got rotors for 35 bucks each and my Hawk HP+ pads were 180 for all of them.
So $320 for everything. It's not that hard to do it yourself if you follow the DIY guide here. |
screw that here is an upgrade with stainless steel lines drilled slotted rotors and hawk pads for $589
or you can just go to tire rack and get factory style brakes and rotors for less then $300. www.tirerack.com rx7store.net |
Where are you at in Oregon? I bought my rotors from Corksport. I bought my brake pads from BHR (vendor).

There is a brake shop here in Vegas called Just Brakes. They will change the pads and shoes, and even out the rotor on all 4 wheels for $99, including labor. I had a brake job done on my Mazda 6i a couple of months ago, and they are just fine. No sound and no problem so far.

My wife got mine (4 drilled and slotted rotors and all ceramic pads) on Ebay for about $269 w/ shipping. So far, they're nice.
