body 1/4" lower on pass side?

I have an 04 GT rx8 and lately ive noticed my car does not sit level on the ground.... i think i remember a thread where someone else mentioned theirs leaning like this too, but on the driver's side. i did a search but found nothing.

the backstory on this goes, i was driving in tucson in heavy rains, and a major section of road washed out (anyone whos ever been to tucson knows this is pretty common). i hit a pothole i could have taken a bath in at about 22 mph and wrecked 2 stock rims, so bad in fact they would no longer form a seal with the tire and leaked air. so a trip to jim click mazda and 1500 bucks later, im riding new wheels (woulda gotten aftermarket ones, but time was a factor and im not from tucson so i needed a ride). the problem is im now noticing a 1/4 inch drop on the passenger side, the side that has the new wheels and damage. its been 2 months since the incident, and i have felt just the slightest shifting from side to side in teh rear end, but it could be accounted to wind.

anyways my question is, anybody elses rx lean to one side? and if not, what the hell happened to mine to make that happen? im going to put some tein s-techs on there soon so i can assess for damage myself then, but im still curios......

so anyone else see this?

I think it would be good to have the alignment checked all the way around. I am no expert, but that big of a whack certainly would have knocked something out of alignment or even bent something.

a bag of 25kg rice would solve the problem :D

nah, get it check out, put the car on a hoist and check if the springs are sitting right, and get a wheel alignment done. make sure there are same psi of air on both sides :)

redjetpack,

Many people including myself have had a problem with their driver side being a little lower than the passenger side by about a half an inch.

Now that I have custom sub that is on the passenger side (about 30 lbs) I don't notice it as much.

Your situation is a little unusual in that it is reversed (pass. side lower). What isn't unusual is allignment problems. My car has a noticeable camber problem on the pass rear that I am going to have to have fixed (very bad "cupping" on the inside of that tire).

Good luck. It sounds like an allignment problem. I hope none of your structural elements are bent.

thanks a lot, ill get a 4 wheel alignment done, because these tires are too damn expensive to let em cup. i did notice the tire pressure was about 2 psi lower, but i havent found a level chunk of ground to look at it on. thanks for the replies, ill keep ya posted if anything awful is bent.
