Bilstein HD vs Tokico D-Spec?

Looking at 2 shocks right now: Bilstein HD and Tokico D-Spec.

Car is a daily driver but is also used for autocross and lapping. I don't mind the stiffer ride for DD and I do want something stiffer than the OEM sport suspension.

Even thought he D-Specs are adjustable I will likely set them and leave them, however I have been hearing concerns that the HD are better suited to DD than AutoX and that they don't match up well with lowering springs.

For springs, I am considering a few: Swift (seem great but where to find?), Progress (already have Progress Sways), Eibach (not so much anymore, too soft?).

Anyone with a similar setup running AutoX and care to comment?

HDs will do fine with your spring choices, which not significantly much stiffer than oems, and they can be revalved to match any springrate further down the line.

You might also want to consider Konis, similar in that they can be modified and is a pretty good shock right out of the box.

Stiffer is not always better, properly valved shocks don't have to feel harsh at all unless you're running an insane spring rate

Im on the D-specs with a set of Tanabe springs the NF series and I like them alot. I drove the 8 last year from Seattle to Detroit.

hmm i just noticed that Megan Racing coilovers are the same price as the Tokico/Bilstein setup I've been looking at............. but looks like they're kinda crappy :P

I am also considering the Konis. I just want to make sure I get a setup where the strut and spring are well matched.

d spec is a good strut and shock but know one makes a coil kit for the shock just the strut. So if you plan on moving up to coil overs buy the hds
