BFGoodrich g-Force Sport 225/45ZR18 @ $76.00 (special) at tirerack.com

Seems like a good deal

Hope these will be same (or not worse) than Kumho SPT (lasted almost 20K!)

Ross_Dawg 11-15-2008 09:48 PM

wow that's a steal... too bad that's not my size anymore :(

I had those on my old car and sold it with about 10K on the tires with decent tread left

ShellDude 11-15-2008 09:59 PM

subscribing... curious to read about experiences with these. At $75 a pop I'm thinking I may have found my new summer tires.

thecow135 11-15-2008 10:02 PM

all the sizes are on sale.

well they still don't have 19's... which sucks...

imput1234 11-16-2008 12:44 AM

wow thats a great price.

LionZoo 11-16-2008 03:52 PM

When TireRack offers specials like this, you should probably scoop it up fast. The g-Force Sport isn't a world beater tire, but it's a competent summer performance tire for someone who isn't going to try to get every ounce of performance out of the car.

alz0rz 11-16-2008 05:39 PM

cleaning out summer stock?!

JAY04GT_MT 11-16-2008 06:14 PM

Thanks for the heads up, buying now.

ShellDude 11-16-2008 06:46 PM

How do these compare against the factory tires? I'm about ready to pull the trigger.

kersh4w 11-16-2008 09:02 PM

thats crazy

RotoRocket 11-16-2008 09:14 PM

Price is great, but some of the reviews about wet weather traction and control on rainy roads is concerning.

....

ShellDude 11-16-2008 09:59 PM

after reading the reviews and considering the price, I went for it. If I can get 10k out of these tires before they become unbearable I'll be happy. $300 for new rubber put a smile on my face, and kept my other romance off my wife's radar... in mastercard terms, priceless!

Did you have to pay $38.06 shipping?

ShellDude 11-16-2008 10:33 PM

aye, and I bought the nifty transport / storage cases for them when I take them down to my local tire store later this week to swap out the stock tires. Figure I'll have them pop on my 17" wheels and winter tires at the same time as I have no clue what to do with the funky mounting rings that came with my winter wheels.

In all, It came out to like $384

I'm not worried about that. I also see plenty of reviews which talk positively of that aspect. This tire isn't meant to be superb in said conditions; someone is bound to criticize it. Judging by the survey results, it performs better than our OEMs which gets critiqued similarly.

volcomx31 11-17-2008 12:47 AM

the Kumho SPT tire sucks..

RotoRocket 11-17-2008 07:15 AM

Ordered them.

Thanks.

Just mounted my snow tires and winter wheels, and I don't have much tread left on my OEM Dunlops, so these will be put on in the spring.

$85 per tire with shipping.

yenphi 11-17-2008 08:11 AM

just ordered, thanks for the infor

....

Most have no idea what they are talking about.
Seriously, I went thru 3 or 4 sets in last 4 yeas and every time new set was better than old one.
Even when I replaced totally worn out RT-615 with ZIEX 512 (all season rubber btw :) ).

To truly compare something you have to do side-by-side tests in a controled eviroment with proper measurement etc etc , just like tirerack or many magazines do.

Tirerack has two in-house tests with these tires - make sure you check them out.
While this is not a killer tire it is definitely not a crap tires either.

SiLVeRE8 11-17-2008 08:22 PM

thats a super good deal! anyone keeping stock size should jump on these whether you need them or not just to save them for later

ShellDude 11-17-2008 08:50 PM

My 4 shipped today. I should have them mounted (too bad I'm going to my winter wheels for the winter) by the weekend.

Does anyone know if these are quieter and maybe a little less harsh than the stock Dunlops? Mine were noisy as hell at freeway speeds on concrete.

ShellDude 11-18-2008 07:51 PM

I won't be able to answer until April, but they did arrive today. The stock tires at 18k are unbearable at any speed.

amstarvid 11-18-2008 09:28 PM

Looks like that price is long gone - now shows $145 each
