is the automatic 4.1 differential the same unit with direct fit for the manual rx8's?

I have series I rx8 with 4.4 stock rear differential. I was curious whether automatic 4.1 rear differential is the same LSD unit with the only difference being the rings and pinions..?

also, do we have any other options? like with s2k or 370z differential... I'm asking about a direct fit.. just trying to exhaust all options before I go with 8.8.

The 4.1 is a direct fit but I'm thinking it isn't LSD .... not 100% on that though.

I believe there was an LSD offered on the 4at. It came on sport package. I can see that the LSD was offered on European market "low power" 5 spd manual cars, so I think it is the same unit as the USDM 4at.

Edit: my 2005 sales brochure lists the LSD as an included option for the sport package on the 4AT.

I looked round a bit and couldn't find a place to ask except here; What differential do i have in my 2004 differential?. It is a 2004 rx8 automatic transmission.

I dumped the trans fluid once and need a second dump to clean it all but i wanted to know what rear differential i have in my car or how can i find out?. I suppose i can call mazda?. Does the vin play an identification part?.
