Amazing deal on wheels, what about tires?

So i got an awesome deal on a set of wheels 19x8.5 +35 in the front, 19x10 +25 in the rear. Fronts came with 245/45 and the rears need new tires... so you can see my problem because the fronts will rub really bad. The guy that i got them from said to just throw the front tires on the rear and go stretched then buy some for the fronts. What do you guys think?? will that even bring my rears close to stock circumference? I would like my speedometer to still be accurate.

Personally I was thinking of just picking up some 245/35 for the front, and 275/30 for the rear. I will be lowering my car as well since it is currently at the stock ride height, thinking about leaving about an inch gap maybe a little less...

what would you guys do??

What's your goal here? Given the staggered fitment, huge wheels, and very-not-stock offset, I'm assuming ride and handling are dead last on your list of priorities. Are you just looking for tires that'll physically fit and not throw off your speedo?

my goal is tires that will fit, wear the least when I lower and change the camber, and sacrifice the least amount of ride and handling (yes I know this will make my car drive completely different but it's only my DD, I never track it and rarely drive super aggressive - to many cops where i live)

So looking only at overall diameters: If you're using 245/35 in front, you'll want 285/30 in the back. Both of those will be slightly smaller than stock OD, but they'll be smaller by about the same amount, which is key. Hope you can make those sizes fit somehow, because you don't have a lot of other options.

There are some decent tire options in that size combo. Hard to say what'll last with tons of camber (hint: probably nothing), but I know the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ has a long treadwear warranty (at least with square fitments and regular rotation) and does well with mild driving.

Good luck with this, man.

285/30's are going to be pretty fat in the back though..... gonna need a fender roll and some camber for sure if you're lowering, especially at +25mm offset.

Yeah, they're huge. Especially when they're 40 wider than the fronts.

There are no good options with these wheels on this car. This is about finding what sucks the least.

Those tire sizes should work, you're still gonna need fender roll and camber in the rear for sure.

wouldn't 275/30 work better on the rear just so they aren't so wide? using a tire size calculator it looks like theirs a less then 2% difference in circumference which is okay for me

are you suggesting this wheel/tire size is crazy? lol I thought it was pretty doable seeing on the Will it Fit thread their seem to be a decent amount of posts with 10inch wheels in the rear. I honestly didn't even consider doing this till this guy practically gave the wheels to me, guess i could always sell them for a profit...

Yeah but those guys probably run mega camber....

Rough calcs: Mine are 9.5" +30mm with 255 tires and are pretty much flush with my fenders withing stock spec camber. The 285 tires with +25mm offset rim will poke out approximately 20mm further than mine from the face of the hub, that's roughly 3/4" more, So you'd have to run enough camber to bring the top of that rim back inside the fender line when the strut compresses.

275 is too wide, too. Unless you're looking at track tires, that width is just worse with no upside. So at this point it doesn't matter. Might as well go for the better overall diameter.

Again, the problem isn't just the difference vs. stock, but the difference front-to-back. 245/35 is bigger than 275/30.

Then definitely sell them, and use the money for some good lightweight 18s with closer to stock offset.

So i guess what my decision comes down to is with the amount of camber i will need will i be having to replace my tires every 5k to 10k miles.... cause if that's the case then i don't want to use these wheels...

No idea. But what you will have is more NVH, tramlining, vulnerability to wheel damage, and faster wheel bearing wear. And in some situations, LESS grip than you'd have with a good stock-sized tire with stock alignment. And unless these are REALLY high-end lightweight wheels, much more unsprung/rotating mass than stock. Etc. etc.

do you have 9.5 all the way around? If so, how well do they fit up front?

Yes 9.5" +30mm all around, with 255/35's I have absolutely no rubbing and I am lowered on S-tech springs with Koni shocks. I believe it is possible to fit 265/35's but I would expect some minor rubbing on the wheel well liners only. I rolled all 4 of my fenders but I don't know how necessary it was for the front.
