Aftermarket Adjustable Front Lower Control Arm - Interest?
Hey all -
I'm running stock suspension, and am front camber limited at the track... no one seems to make an adjustable lower control arm for the front (-1.9 in the front atm). Offset bushings (i've been told) won't really work or hold the position given heavy usage. Was talking to a company about making adjustable lower control arms for the front to allow for more neg camber (it would be a slightly different design off of a steering angle adjustment kit)... Working on pricing information, but is anyone interested in something like this? Or am I the lonely guy trying to drive the piss out of my car before putting coilovers on or dropping the car? I'm running a Series II, but the Series I forum seems to get more action and this would apply to both... |
Have you looked at Japspeed or Megan Racing? I think they sell them. Not sure how good they are.
|
Megan has rears, but not in the front. Ultimately I'm trying to do as much as I can without ditching the R3 suspension... but at a certain point, that doesn't make sense...
It's a chase for camber just to extend the life of the tire, but may not end up making sense, and at some point, I may have to just bite the bullet on some suspension pieces... |
I must admit to being relieved that Megan doesn't have them.
Japspeed does have something that may work. These are probably less expensive than having something made. Again, I have no idea how good they may be. https://www.japspeed.co.uk/mazda-rx-...mber-arms.html |
curious - why are you relieved that Megan doesn't have them...?
|
Just a unsubstantiated personal animosity. They copy a lot of products, without spending any R&D $$ of their own, nothing they sell seems to live up to expectations, and ricers really like their stuff. If they don't sell it, I don't have to worry about ever needing to put it on my car. :P

lol!! I am surprised though that you're only able to get -2.5 out of the front even on coilovers though... ... ...

That would be a great option.
I only found camber bushings so far. I have an S1 RX8 with double adjustable shocks on threaded perches. Its is set at 5" from the front jack point to the floor . It only got -2.1 camber on stock control arms set up. In the rear, I can get as much negative camber as I want. My tires wear and temperatures show that i am only using the outside part of the tires. I believe that more front camber will improve front grip on the tracks that I had being visiting. |

The japspeed are uppers, they work well, only problem is having to blindly adjust camber due to working space with the wheel on
