is 225/55/17 snow tires usable?
 

hi, I just bought my RX8 ( and first car) couple weeks ago so Im a complete n00b about wheels and stuff. I know that Rx8 will NEED winter tires and I've come across this guy whos selling 225/55/17 for pretty cheap... Would those fit the Rx8? ( if i get proper rims/steelies).

I've read through many threads including the ones w/ the Snow and Snowtires + picture, and only one person has 225/55/17.

it depends if they are "SNOW" tires, plus you'll have to buy 17 inch rims

225/55/17 will probably fit but will be a little tall; your speedo will read about 3% lower than your actual speed. 225/50/17 or 215/55/17 are more accurate fitments.

aren't we just through winter? & i didn't think australia got any snow... new zealand, perhaps?

There probably wont be snow for another.. 4 months.. but this set of tires is nice and cheap so figured iwould buy it now since its inevitable
