17x9 Fitment

I was hoping to get some help from the Vet's here on the site. I was this close to selling my RX-8 for a nice profit until my engine went and the nice guys at Mazda are giving me a brand new refurbished engine. Long story short I am happily keeping my REX and am going to be getting it ready for autocross season. Wanted to double check and make sure 17x9 inch rims will fit with my 255/40R17 with the drop I have from my Tanabe Springs. Any insight would be great thanks.

More than probably, unless it has a huge positive offset.

I think topgear8 confirmed a set of +28 offset 17x9 wheels did well with his autox setup without rubbing. He might be slightly lower than you. Measure the distance from the center of the wheel to fender. Use that to compare his drop to yours. Maybe he'll chime in on this thread.

^What he said. I had rolled fenders before I tested the 17x9 +28 and 255's. They fit after the fender roll just fine. With no roll you should be fine with a +30 or higher. My 17x9 +35 WedsSports fit just fine with 255's and 265's.

Omar a.k.a. nyc drift king(who is local to you) used to run 5 Zigen FN01R-C in 17s with BBK before his current set up.
