1 more uneven suspension thread
So I searched and found like 2 other threads where this was mentioned but I couldn't really seem to find a solid answer.
My driver's side rear sits lower than my passenger side, I do have a system in the trunk but it's set up in a way where most of the real weight is in the center, not to mention car's still uneven with an empty trunk anyway. So is this how our cars sit naturally? I read where coilover's "fix it" but I don't have funds to go that route so maybe there's something else I could try? As far as I know the springs are seated correctly and I've checked most of the simple stuff out, so maybe there's something I'm missing that someone can point out. Thanks! |
anyone? I'm using S techs with stock shocks by the way, dunno if that means anything to anybody :dunno:

I've got a similar problem:
S-Tech's with Koni Yellows. My rear tires tuck inside the fender, but there's substantial wheelgap in the front [more than stock] from full soft to full hard. I have no clue why my rear sits lower than my front but that isn't ideal for me. I'd rather it be reversed, what with an S2000 rake/wedge effect. |

the rear is like that.
i had to adjust my coilovers up higher on the driver's side. I know 2 others who had to as well. has to do with probably the frame and the stock springs. |
Oh, I didn't misinterpret.
I just figured I could tag onto this thread, because someone who answers his question might know the answer to mine. |
are you sure you put them on right? the shop that put mine on didn't and they said it looked the way you are describing.

I have S.techs with Konis and have the same problem. Rear passengar side sits higher than the rear driver side by an ANNOYING amount. I havent been able to find a fix........
Michael, if you pre-loaded the fronts then maybe you switched the front and rear springs on accident? (just a thought). With s.techs your suppose to get the s2k effect u mentioned earlier where the front sits lower than the rear........ |

I plan on installing my S-techs and pre-loading them but is this a guaranteed solution?
I mean why is there no definitive answer for this problem? |
I wish I knew, it's funny to me as I know for a fact there are several cars that come from the factory with the same problem. How hard is it to build and produce a car that sits level? :lol: My previous vehicle was a 97' S10 pickup (lowered as well, Envoy front clip, disk brakes all around, 18" Budnik's etc etc) and Eibach actually produces lowering springs for that truck that are different on one side to compensate for it not being level. Makes me wonder how many other cars I see out on the road every day are not sitting right :D:

My RX8 sits the same way on the stock springs... My father noticed it this spring and mentioned it to me. I told him I was aware of it and that pretty much every RX8 seems to have the same problem, regardless of stock or aftermarket springs lol...
Sure it's a bit of an annoyance when you look at it, but it's one of those things that 95% of people aren't going to notice anyways lol... |

my front sits so much higher than my rear. sounds like an innuendo, but its not. it looks like i dropped the back about an inch and a half and took up the front a half inch

The rear fenders had to be shaved, but I guess there was still some rubbing going on with the plastic in the inside of the fender/rear bumper... yeah, I have 19x9.5 with a +29 back there, there's a bolt that holds down the corner of the bumper that sticks out something fierce, and the plastic liner covers it and bulges out even more. I rolled my fenders a while back so the fenders are fine, it's just the annoying bumper bolt plastic liner whatever that catches from time to time. I'll probably take a closer look at it this weekend, maybe I can relocate it, shave the bolt head down a bit, use a ziptie in its place aka drifter style etc etc

i shaved the both the edges of the fender and bumper near that bolt and i no longer rub.

this issue was noted during one of the houston meets, almost everyone with lowering spring or aftermarket suspension set up have a slant problem in the rear.

I've been experiencing the same problem with my car for the past few years, but this yr i solved it with coilovers.... i did have to raise the right side of the car more so than the left to keep the wheel gap the same on both sides. however, i really dont know what the cause is...

i took my car to the shop about this one, and they adjusted the allignment, the camber and did all they could do, he said its just the springs, and as you can see a lot of the time its Tein, i too have Tein S techs. In the end i just had to say i guess this is the way it is. Mine is my passenger side though, at least when im in the car it should be even
