wont start at all..any help?

my 04 six speed wont start what so ever.

Here is the story.
I was driving down the road and it was all fine. got to a stop light and the clutch stuck to the floor. pulled it up with my foot and got to the next light then when i stopped it wasnt in gear, and i put it in first and it shut off.i made my way to a parking lot and to a spot. after that the clutch wouldnt work at all. I got it home and I tried to start it and it just turned over. Normal speed of turn over, it just sounded as if it was not even trying, no spark or anything.

I took the tranny off to deal with the clutch and my release bearing was in about six messed up pieces. I got another on today and put it in and all back together and everything seems to feel right and look right. I went to start it and the same thing is happening. It just sounds like nothing is going on. I plugged up a abdII to read it and it just says there are no codes there.

Im having a feeling I need a computer... but i could be wrong.

If anyone has anything to help me in any way that would be great.

Have you tried to deflood it?

Do you still have the original battery and starter?
If so, look into upgrading those because its a common problem with '04 and some '05 models.

Now just to clarify... the motor is attempting to start, correct?
You quote "sounds like nothing is going on" makes me question.

Air, Fuel, or spark...

I hate to ask, but when is the last time you replaced your plugs and ignition coils?

A weak ignition system added with all the attempted starts you've been doing could have flooded the engine would could have further fouled the spark plugs.

Are their any other factors leading you to think its the ECU?

Yes it is the same battery and starter.

I will swap it out with my optima and see what happens for a second.

I changed the spark plugs less then a month ago. They are not bad. But im not sure on the coils. Im going to get under it today and check for good spark.

It has just done some weird stuff in the past due to the ecu I think.

But... if flooded what would be the best way to deal with that?

answer the man's question- is the starter turning when you turn the key? does it not turn but you hear clicking? does it make no sound at all when you turn the key?

When you turn the key the starter turns, the motor turns, along with everything else attached to it.

Checked spark, both trailing coils spark..however, both leading coils do not. What could cause this? Would this be enough to make it not start? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

That's weird...
I assume you're testing for spark by holding the spark plugs against the car's body/chassis.
You should see spark from all four plugs while cranking.
If you wanted to narrow down the ignition components, start swapping the leading and trailing coils, wires, and plugs to see if the 'non-ignition' carries over.

Maybe before that, clean the eccentric shaft positioning sensor.
Use an electric/contact cleaner on a shop rag and wipe the face of the sensor.
You might have some metallic partials on the face preventing it from reading the positioning plate accurately.
While on that subject... have you done anything around the eccentric shaft pulley that could have bent the positioning plate?
