Sounds like its flooded to me.

Year, miles, mods? Do you have the upgraded starter?

My '04 does this, seems to be isolated to me though. After sitting for 5 days+, it seems that gas tends to seep from the injectors and pool in the combustion chambers.

Mazda has done an interesting thing with the gas pedal though. . . when you put your foot to the floor on the gas pedal, it cuts ALL fuel flow. Allowing you to crank the engine without introducing more fuel. (For flooding)

So, I've done this when I start it after its been sitting. Crank for 5-7 seconds with my foot to floor, give the starter a quick rest, then start normally.

If you're really flooded, there are plenty of threads on how to get that sucker unflooded without going to a dealer.

j/k, glad it worked out for you... if you notice your car is prone to this in the cold or after sitting a few days, just use the foot to floor crank "trick" doesn't hurt anything and prevents another flood, just in case.
