Where is DRL Module

Hi,

Can you tell me where the DRL module is and how I can test it? I have a service manual that I downloaded online, but it doesn't seem to list the DRL module. I've searched the forum, and apparently it's somewhere under the glove box, but that doesn't identify it or tell me how to test it.

My problem is that my high beams and daytime running lights do not work. I have checked the headlight relay, fuses and the headlight switch (of course even in a modern premium car interior parts are only made to be assembled once, so now it will never look as good, will rattle, etc.. ) and everything is okay.

I'm getting a bit frustrated, I've had this car for 5 months from 22-28,000 kms (13-16k miles) and I have had four problems already. My previous cars (owned during overlapping periods) a '87 RX-7 and '98 Protege had a better track records than that.

Thanks.

Page 229 in the Body manual goes over removing and inspecting the DRL module.

Have you verified the switch itself is ok?
If you have fog lights, do they come on when you turn the switch?
How about the rear side markers?

Looking at the electrical diagram I can't see it being a fuse or relay unless you have two separate issues.

I had that html version of the manul which doesn't seem to be nearly as useful as the PDF. You made me realize there was a PDF. I found a pdf version of the body manual (electrical won't download, but I don't need it due to your posting) and went to the page you specified. I'll check it tomorrow evening and let you know how it goes.

Yes I did verify that the switch itself is okay on the high setting. What are flood lights, do you mean fog lights? If so, they work.

Thanks!

The values I'm reading seem to be different from what the manual specifies. I think I'll try replacing the DRL module. When the part comes I'll let you know how I make out. Mazdamotorsports doesn't have it in stock, so I imagine it's going to be a long wait with my super competent local Mazda dealer.

Thanks for the help.

Replacing the DRL module didn't help. :(

My GF noticed both bulbs have some black in them. Is that in any way normal? Is it possible that both bulbs blew at the same time? They're not wired in series are they?

They're not in series.
Might be time to check for voltage at the socket.

I also noticed the current runs through the FOG relay before the DRL Module.
Just something else to throw out there.
