What does "limp-mode" feel like?
I was driving along and all of a sudden my car wont go over 3,000 RPM in any gear. Idle is also very high.
When this happened the traction control light turned on. What would cause this to happen? |
Are you boosted?
That is what limp mode is like minus the high idle and DSC light |
Actually, limp-mode will often be concurrent with any of the DSC/TCS/ABS/CEL illuminated.
Idle should default to cold idle, which is about 1700 RPM. |
it feels like this

You'll know limp mode when you get it. You won't be able to maintain speed on a highway with it.
3k rpm sounds high, I know when I hit limp mode I was having trouble moving anywhere. With 3k you could cruise. |

I don't know about what its like on the 8 but I just had it happen on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Basically it had no power, it wasnt limited but the shift points were different and the overdrive was nonexistent. Car needed an entire new tranny, I bought an Rx-8 instead

You have limp mode.
