weird brake screech noise when not braking

so this started happening a few days ago, maybe 2 or 3 days max.

The Problem: There is a weird screeching noise, very very similar if not exactly what you would hear on a car with very worn brake components that need to be switched out for new ones.

NOISE COMES FROM REAR RIGHT I BELIEVE...

though, the noise is very faint... and ive only heard the noise up to 12mph, but today i heard it at 27mph and more frequent so i think its getting worse.

the only time i can pinpoint it NOT screeching is going over bumps, it tends to do it over flat or nearly flat road with some minor imperfections.

i first heard it in a parking deck so the ground was very flat.

at first i thought it was my coilover, but i think it has to do with my braking system back there because the sound sounds like it is coming in a repetitive motion, which i assumed rotating so the braking system.

UNRELATED: i heard a huge knock today on my front left, kind of like a rock getting thrown up at my fender liner, i didnt see anything on the road so i just knocked it up to me not paying enough attention.. Then i heard a near identical noise again while driving home tonight.. any ideas?

2008
41k miles
original brakes
stance gr+ coilovers
oem sways
oem endlinks

any help would be appreciated!

I know i need to change out my brakes ASAP, just wondering if this noise is because of the brakes being very very very worn down, or something else?

about 10k miles ago the service tech at mazda told me my brakes had about "10%" life left and i should replace them, obviously for a outrageous fee.. i decided i would wait a month or two and for the same price buy something aftermarket that i wanted. I never got around to it and here i am now.

Dragging caliper would be my first guess.

Check to see if your wheels are getting warm after a long drive. The dragging caliper will create heat in the rotor, which will heat up the wheel hub. But be careful, if it is dragging heavily you might get burned if you touch the rotor.

But, you pretty much answered your own question, so start with that.

i actually hear it as soon as i start driving the car.

but yeah, definitely swapping all the brake components out.. just have to wait about 1-2 more weeks till school is over.
