Weird AFR Readings OEM vs aftermarket
 

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this...

So I have an Innovate Wideband AFR controller plugged into a GReddy Profec e-01. The issue that I'm having is that the readings are off by almost 1 compared to the OBDII reading that I'm getting from a COBB AP. For example, the Profec e-01 would show 13.7-14.3 while the COBB unit displays 14.5-15.3 at idle. Btw I've got the GReddy turbo kit and my car is being tuned by MM.

Is anyone else getting substantially different readings from their aftermarket AFR gauge compared to the OEM readings? Or have I messed up the installation of my aftermarket wideband sensor? The aftermarket sensor is about 5" - 6" downstream from the factory wideband and it's almost parallel to the ground with a slight downward angle. I have Race Root's 3" dual resonated mid-pipe with no cat and no axle back exhaust (not even the OEM one).

I was chatting with someone about this, since I can't use a COBB with my car, do you know if you are looking at the actual AFR or commanded AFR with the cobb?

The OEM wideband (any wideband really) can wear out. How old are both sensors?

Is either sensor close to an exhaust join? Could be picking up a small exhaust leak?

Both sensors probably have about 2 months on them. Just got them replaced with less than 5,000 miles. The factory wideband is on the original GReddy location on the downpipe and my Innovate one is plugged in about 2"-3" from the downpipe to midpipe connection. I've also performed the free air calibration as per Innovate's instructions but things were still off.

If it were an exhaust leak wouldn't the sensor further downstream be more lean? What I don't get is that my aftermarket one is reading much more rich than the factory one.

you could try grounding the innovate to the same place as the factory sensors.

you could also try switching the sensors around (should do nothing).
