water pump problem?

ok first off:
2004 mt
156000km
completely stock engine
new coils, wires and plugs in january.

my check engine coolant light keeps coming on and im well aware that is is a "common problem"

ive check and re checked my coolant levels. always full. never leaking.

i was just wondering if there was a way to make sure that this defective sensor is the only problem or is there another way i should go about looking at it?

is there a way to tell if my water pump is working correctly? my tstat or just do a coolant flush

any help would be greatly appreciated

The coolant light means low coolant.

If your coolant isn't low, then the sensor is failing.

Only replacement option is replacing the entire bottle.

There are other tests for the rest of the cooling system, but a failure of one of those can only trigger the light if the overheating from the failure boils away the coolant until the coolant is low enough to trigger the light.

Get a reservoir w/ sensor. Common problem. Be careful disconnecting the hoses, sometimes the plastic on the radiator is brittle
