Water Noise HELP

Hello all when I start my car under my shifter knob/ by the cigarette lighter it sounds like there is water turning in the car. I know that sounds weird but that is what it sounds like. it only does it in first gear. So i took it to pep boys... not like i like them but only place i know about in arizona.... and they said sounds like the water pump... don't wanna pay all that money for nothing. But idk if anyone else has had that problem... would help me diagnose the problem
THANKS

Marbles in a can?

I'm thinking he's hearing coolant passing through his heater core. It happens when he starts the car.

Same thing I've been getting. sounds like the cooling system system needs to be bled. Must be air in the system.

sorry but how do i bleed the system. I really don't want to have to pay to do this sounds pretty easy... Thanks everyone!

Jack up the front of the car, remove coolant cap, run the car with heater on high for 15-20min should do the trick.

So the cap as in the coolant overflow cap?

GK1707 03-09-2014 09:09 AM

Yes precisely.

Wouldn't that hurt the car or the coolant overflow? Since when the car warms up it will expand?

No, you actually jack up the front, remove the reservoir cap and hold the throttle at 2500RPM for five minutes and then go up and hold it at 3000RPM for another five minutes to properly bleed air from the system. The keeps the system from over flowing and gets all of the air out.
