Washed the engine and now....codes are !!1
so I finally got a scanner...love it.
The engine only has 10,000 km and it sounds like a tractor.
the codes are
po102 mass or volume air flow A circuit low
and
po113 intake sensor 1 circuit high
this is after washing the engine ??
where do I start? any help appreciated.

I'm sorry wait what you washed your engine?
It sounds by the codes that you messed up an electrical sensor or two.
Start with the maf pull that out and clean it with MAF cleaner. Then spray off the electrical connector with some electrical connector cleaner. You can check all the fuses in both boxes.
I'd also leave the hood up to dry out for a day or two. good luck

The circuit low and circuit high thing is usually a sign of a bad ground or a short somewhere. So sounds like you washed the MAF connector and now it's unhappy. Disconnect it and let the whole thing dry out in the sun.
Make sure there is a problem before you replace.
Often times people think MAF is the problem, replace it, and it does nothing to fix the problem. MAFs are not cheap, either, so it's not like a $10 relay you can replace just because.

well if its not the maf then it has to be with the wiring from the maf....most likely it got wet but the cables are very well protected so kinda running out of ideas :P
Did you wash it with a pressure washer? Those things can force water into all kinds of places, especially where connectors attach to cables. Could take a while to dry out, leave the hood open in the sun. I wouldn't replace the MAF, it was fine before you watered it, so it's probably still fine.
Before you change your MAF, check the grounding. The MAF shares a ground wire that connects right behind the PCM box (the flat black box between battery and fender.)
You should see a black wire bolted/grounded to the fender, worth a loosen & retighten.

ok will check that
. I assume I should again disconnect the battery not to get shocked....funny thing is it might be the grounding cause when I was disconnecting the negative wire from the battery I had sparks flying :O

Yes, disconnect the battery to avoid becoming part of the car's electrical system.
can I possibly disconnect the maf and see it the car runs better?
also what maf sensor fits the 05 rx8?
is the mead 3 or 6 the same one ?
any help appreciated

You can run with the MAF unplugged, you just can't really drive anywhere. Wait did you dry it plugged in? You'll want to dry the connector itself, which means leaving it unplugged for a while... that's probably what got wet.
the car runs pretty much the same with the maf unplugged no difference maybe slightly the engine chokes even more . No I unplugged it and dried it with even a blow dryer
