vibrations throughout the rpm after installing a new clutch

i dont know if im in the right place but bare with me here please im new to this , so here is the thing .

i installed an ACT clutch stage 1 (organic) on my 08 6 speed rx8 , clutch and pressure plate , stock fly wheel stayed since the mechanic said it was fine and nothing was wrong with it , and i used a stock bearing , since i couldnt find the ACT one in time , anyway , we adjusted the clutch pedal and gears where shifting just amazing , i was supposed to drive the car for 500 km before i start flooring the gas pedal so thats what i did , iv done 150 km till now , problem here is theres a vibration throughout the RPM , most heavily through 0 - 3200 , on all gear and even on complete stop , but its a bit smoother when car is on neutral , mainly in the front center of the car where the gearbox is , and you can feel the vibration through the gas pedal and steering wheel , i dont know whats going on , i think it might be they flywheel , but im not sure , mechanic says he see's nothing wrong , n that that clutch is usually like this (which makes no sense to me) , the car has 19,000 km on it , so i dont know could it be engine mounts ?

note : the engine sounds different , a bit louder , more sporty , i dont know if some of the pipe screws are loose but we rechecked all the bolts n they seem fine

i really dont know what to do , anyone else experienced this before ?
is it perfectly normal ?
would it get better after driving around for a couple of 1000 kms ?

If it does it while you are not moving, you have to suspect the flywheel or pressure plate. The clutch disc doesn't move if the car is not moving. Did you have the flywheel resurfaced?

Go back over your work and make sure you didn't damage any wires or miss any plugs. Make sure you didn't damage the O2 sensor.

The car shouldn't sound any louder or sportier from replacing the clutch. By :

Do you mean the exhaust or the engine itself?

Did you make sure the PPF (powerplant frame) was aligned as per the FSM?

I was talking about exhaust sound , AND as if the clutch has a sounds as well , I used to own a STI impreza with crazy mods and i had metal clutch and I find the organic one almost the same expect for the higher RPM required , aren't organic discs supposed to be somewhere from normal to moderate ?
+ I noticed that when down shifting , from 3rd - 2nd the itch crunches before its engaged as if it's a metal clutch , the guys say it's perfectly normal but makes no sense to me

Flywheel wasn't resurfaced because it was in an excellent condition (mechanics words)

Let elaborate more about the clutch and engine sound , the car sounds like a mini 20B powered rx8 , I can't hear a different sound + when launching the clutch crunches as if it's a metal clutch , not as harsh of course but still harsh , O2 sensor is perfectly fine btw , one of my friends said it might be that the flywheel is bent =\

If the flywheel wasn't bent before, why would it be bend now? I assume this issue started after you replaced the clutch. It should be safe to say that if the flywheel was ok before the clutch install, it is still ok now.

check the driveshaft bolts.

Does anyone have this clutch ? Or any other organic ones ?
I wanna know how they operate , as in how "STREET FRIENDLY" are they ?

I'm gonna take the car back soon my brake pads are here , I love brembo ^__^
So while I'm at it I'll check everything you guys mentioned + there's some new sound that started squeeking especially on corners and bumps , hope
It all goes well

I have the same issue I get vibrations in the gear area as well in between 500 rpm to 1000 rpm but no vibration in neutral I have a 2004 rx8 6spd

Attallah_Att 01-08-2013 10:42 AM

Sorry I'm a bit late , well the squeeking was something to do with the cat , I'm gonna go get it tightened up tomorrow , as for the vibration its all gone after somewhere between 1000-1500 miles , clutch is worki perfectly , especially after I changed the transmission's oil , thanks a lot guys
