vibrating problem -__-
 

Ever since the weather got hotter here this problem started. My *RPM goes to about 500 and starts to rattle the entire car. I went to 5w30 and im thinking thats why? Also a problem i have been having for a while is when its hot the car overheats and if i turn on ac or anything the car vibrates alot. Whats going on???

Motor mounts?

That was my first thought.

check for vacum leaks suck as inbetween the airbox to the throttle body i have the same prob is has to do with my aftermarket intake i have the RB and the mesh screen broke off and there isnt a constant air flow going threw the Mas air flow meter then check the mas air flow meter check those hope that works

already got new motor mounts. 1000% its not that.. Car also turned off today when i was about to accelerate from a red light. Whats going on??
I have an AEM cold air intake. That's about it. Can't be that.

Unless the cap for the VFAD came off the upper intake manifold.

Its an 04 AT. no VFAD.

im telling you it has something to do with ur air check everything ur intake make sure thats not cloged take it off make sure nothing is in it check ur mass air flow meter clean that with CRC mass air flow sensor cleaner see if that works

I noticed the problem. One of my fans on my radiator isn't working. Car overheated yesterday. I drove it. turned AC on. tried everything but the left fan that's under the intake wont work. Could that be all of it or could I have a messed up head gasket as well? How do i check out the gasket to see if its ok?

you dont have a"HEAD" so there is no "HEAD GASKET". Here's how to check if there has been damage to the engine caused by the over heating-

Do you see a puddle of coolant under your car that can be tracked back to a leak in the block? if so you toasted the engine and it needs rebuilt. if no then your good for now.

get the fan fixed(imagine that it did have something to do with the intake- probably cut a wire or undid a harness connection when installing the AEM) and might as well get a new thermostat. check for noise and or leaks from the water pump that will indicate it needs changed.

lol typo -__- my bad.. meant to say RPM lmao. I have extended warranty from the dealer where i bought it from. That's way too much work for me so I guess I'm going to take it in and get everything checked out. What are the things that I should tell them to check most? thermostat, the fans, radiator, all the wires, engine, anything else?

Just bring your car to the dealer and say my car overheats and vibrates like crazy. Do not mention that you used 5w30 cause some dealers can be a pita. Just let the tech figure out whats wrong .

wow lol this is funny, well if you want to spend money go to the dealership but one thing i learned in auto tech that my teacher told use fix wat u know is broken and go from there if u know how to turn a wrench fix it urself see i it fixes the whole thing, your guess is as good as any mechanic at the dealership, obviously is this was a very common problem with the rx-8 you woldof had ur answer the second u asked ur question on this thread. being a mechanic i learned that the dealersip is nicked named the stealership for a good reason, tere just going to charge you an hour or 2 for diagnosis and tell you a bunch of bull sht to replace, plus you have to pay for getting the fan fixed.

Can i buy aftermarket fans? for cheap? I'm getting offers for 200 for brand new. Anyone know where I can buy them cheaper?

I cant get the car to a dealer. Can't even take it down the street. If the car is stopped and i turn on the AC the car turns off, every time. I drive it for more than 5 minutes in 70 degrees and higher it will overheat. Help me out please. thanks..

I would jumper the relays and see if the fan motor actually works..or if there is other problems. ( relay etc)

Your coolant temp sensor could be bad...that would cause it to overheat and the fans not to come on.....the ECU could see the temps as low when they aren't.

Coolant level low??

If you can't do any of the above...take it to the dealer on a flat bed and you will be better off....

I did manage to check the fans by connecting them straight to the battery and they do work but they wont turn on by themselves. So I connected a switch, turned them on and drove it to service. Took out the wires and stuff out a block down and took it in. I told the guy to write down that i towed the car in so they don't blame me if something got messed up for overheating. Dealers are dicks when it comes to finding a small thing on the car. It's all up to them now. lol no car for a week i guess =[ On the bright side i got a sexy ass mustang for my rental! Time to go give out on every corner -__-
