Without going into too much background information can a used RKE Module be salvaged from another 8 and reprogrammed or is the module locked to the ECU of the donor car?

 

As long as they have the same FCC ID, yes.

 

I took the car to the dealership with the donor RKE Module and after a couple days of attempts they were unable to install the Module. They never even got to the point of syncing the FOBs. Once installed the anti-theft circuits did not recognize the donor module and after repeated attempts to program the keys the car initiated a 24 lock-out.
