Unknown Problem

So my 8 was flooded for about a year before I finally decided to go outside and work on it. After I finally got it started, I revved it got all the smoke out the way and held the revs at 2000 to 3000 a min. When I let off the gas, she couldn't hold an idle (other words, went to zero) and shut off. Runs kind of rough with a deep puffing sound. I can't think off what this possibly could be. Does anybody have any ideas?

You may need it to relearn how to idle. If you can start it and let it come up to temp at idle, without giving gas, it should get better. Put new gas as well.

Next, pull the spark plugs and chck their condition. Replace if they're too crusted, clean if not. The original flood condition could have been brought on by failed ignition coils, which is very common. Replace.

The lumpy idle is alarming, you could have thrown a seal, but see where the above gets you first. How did it drive before it flooded out?

I'd guess that one or both spark plugs on one of the rotors are not firing at all. The engine can run with one rotor not firing, but it will be lumpy and not idle.
