!!! Ugh Leaking Cooloant !!!!
So as the title states i am leaking coolant, everytime i drive the car it leaves a decent puddle; weird thing is that on my resevoir tank it's full, the leak is coming from the center passenger side, im going to look for broken hoses today, i know that evrything in the car is original so maybe it's just a hose!!, the car idles fine and temperature is normal.
i did overfill it about 2 weeks ago and she has 80,520 miles on her so any input? p.s: i know i spelled coolant wrong |
if you overfilled it, its just coming out of the overflow tank, leaking over your radiator
or maybe your heater core is busted? you smell coolant inside? check the four hoses at the thermostat housing (remove battery cover and check) then check the hose at the firewall beside the washer fluid tank. if its none of those or coming from the actual radiator hose connections, and its for sure coolant, only other place could be from the throttle body or the motorside drain plug on the drivers side |
btw the stock temperature gauge is very inacurate, it wont read its hot until you see smoke.. so dont trust it

+1
If you overfilled its probably just boiling off.... If you live some place cold, you'll be able to track the steam if you do have a coolant leak. The location of your leak does sound like either boiling over (not a big deal, but make sure its not dripping on to your power steering wiring harness) I had/have a coolant leak from the thermostat housing from the gasket getting bent/going bad. It was hard to trace. Good Luck |
the waterpump is shot! i have 80k on the motor and i bought the car from a used dealer lot, all i have is the rotary core warranty
any idea how much? this is goning to run me? |
sure its the waterpump and not just a waterpump gasket?

HELL NO! at 80k miles you replace the pump and houes even if it is a gasket. I'm not saying fix the gasket then drive 1,000 miles to see if it worked, just start with the gasket. . . the water pump is pretty simple and not really prone to failure like this on the car. . . But I'm listening |
