Trouble Starting my RX8

Hey all!!
Im having a problem with my RX8 any help would be greatly appreciated. For about 2 weeks now it takes a while for my car to start. It cranks for about 3-4 seconds before finally turning on. My car has about 51k, battery starter and alternator seem to be fine, i changed the plugs (not coils) when i got the car at 23k miles. I know coils are due for a change but Im not convinced thats the problem because my car doesnt seem to be misfiring at all.
I flooded my car for the first time in 2 years a few days ago, but I fixed that problem already. This whole problem with the cranking has been going on since before the flooding. If anything I feel that deflooding my car helped the cranking problem. It used to take 5 seconds or more to start now it takes less time to start. Anyways thats about all i can say about it at this point. Please help!!

Coils, plugs, and wires should be replaced about every 30,000. The fact that you haven't changed the coils yet tells me you need to do that. Period. It doesn't even matter if your issue is also being caused by something else.

However, your coils can start causing starting problems before they start misfiring (and vise versa). Alot of factors go into either.

Replace your ignition and then see where you are at. Time and time and time again people new to the forums express disbelief that it really could be their ignition, and then they finally get convinced and replace their ignition and are completely floored by the drastic difference it makes in how the engine starts, runs, and puts down power.

Until you get your ignition up to snuff, we are just going to keep pointing back at that anyway. It's far too critical and with failing ignition every other possible problem source is just masked by that one problem.

I'll bet good money it's your ignition

I appreciate the advice, and I agree. Definitely going to change the coils. I'll keep you guys posted on what I find out
