trouble starting after leaving car for 3 days?!

hey guys, I'm in need of some expert advice, desperately!

i left my car since friday, as i went down the coast for the lovely weather.
i have a 6 speed, 04 plate with 57k on the clock. she runs absolutely fine!
I've just got back and thought i'd give it a nice drive out and she wont start! checked the battery and seems fine!
HELP! has anyone had any issues of this nature!

(sorry for the lack of pleasantries but im scouring the net for similar issues whilst writing this)

any help will be welcome :)

Liam

There are alot of different ways of having a "no start" and most of them have different symptoms, different points the "starting" process stops at.

The process is:
1: Key in
2: Clutch in
3: clutch sensor closes the circuit allowing start
4: Key to start
5: Starting relay opens, providing power to the starter from the battery
6: Battery power cranks over the starter motor
7: Starter motor spins the engine through the flywheel
8: Ignition opens
9: Coils get power, begin generating spark current
10: Wires transmit the current to the plugs
11: Plugs begin to spark
12: Fuel pump begins pumping
13: Engine standard compression and combustion should occur

It is possible for a no-start condition to be due to a failure at any one of the above points.

How far are you getting?

i think its stage 6. could leaving it with no start for these days create the problem?

thanks for the rapid response, ive had no start issues prior to this.

Typically, as with any car, weak batteries can drain while sitting there, and produce this. So if you aren't even getting a crank from the engine and the only thing that changed was being dormant for a bit, it's likely you just have a dead battery.

Do you have a set of jumper cables? Try jumping it?

i have a mate with a set. my instinct is the battery but I'm not the most mechanically minded person.
i did dip the accelerator and it sounded like i could hear some faint pops? they were very faint tho.
