tons of smoke

So two days ago I was running out the door and remembered that I had to top off both cars. I was in such a hurry that I got the two bottles mixed up and ended up pooring the bottle that was intended for the other car into my 8. This resulted in WAY too much oil, which in turn blew into the intake.

I didn't notice something was wrong until I was halfway to my destination. I pulled away from stop light and there was a HUGE cloud of blue smoke behind me. Luckily when I reached my destination my friend let me put the 8 in the garage. I was able to do an oil change yesterday along with my BHR ignition upgrade. After cleaning the accordian tube and the intake, I fired her up. The car was still smoking ALOT, regardless I let it run to see if it would work itself out.

After letting it run for about 10mins,
I don't remember how much smoke was coming out before this incident, so this still looks like a lot to me. I had to use a flash light to video the smoke.. I'll try to get a better shot today when I go back to pull the plugs.

Besides the BHR I also have an RB intake, Cobb AP with Stage 1 PCM flash, TurboXS midpipe and catback.

Do you think there is more going on here than just the oil overfill? Any suggestions/tips/advice to remedy this?

So I pulled the plugs and they were beyond filthy. With the look of the plugs I'm surprised they were firing at all. Anyways, after the plug and plug wire change I fired her back up and still experienced smoking issues. However, the smoke was continuing to decrease as I let her idle.

After about 15 minutes of idling the smoke wasn't too bad so I took her out for a real thrashing. As soon as I got on her I noticed a HUGE improvement with the new plugs, wires and ignition. It was like driving a brand new car.

So after a 30min spirited drive and redlining her about two dozen times, I pulled back into my friends driveway and checked the exhaust. There was zero smoke and it was back to running like normal.

It turns out that my overfill was the main issue with the massive amounts of smoke. I was long overdue for a plug change too, so I'm sure that helped clean out the excess oil as well.

you also coated your SSV and VDI with a fresh batch of oil.

good job (sarcasm).

you should pull them out and clean them (serious).
