suspension

i recently replaced my rear tires on my 8 ( were going bald in middle.) i replaced them with stock size 225/45/18. i notice lately that every once in awhile when im turning i hear/feel a rubbing or grinding sound on my right rear tire(passenger). im planning on lowering it on koni/tenabe gf210 springs. then XXR 527s 18x8.5 later down the road.

any help i would appreciate it

Most likely your spring/shock is worn out/blown.

JCrane82 10-04-2012 06:50 AM

Does the grinding sound only happen when turning? Does it also make the sound with the brakes on and off?

2004mazdaATL 10-04-2012 08:20 AM

yes only happens when turning. no noise with brakes.

JCrane82 10-04-2012 08:22 AM

So it doesn't happen when turning under braking?

2004mazdaATL 10-04-2012 08:26 AM

you need to get someone to look in there. could be a wheel bearing, or it could be as simple as a tree branch

you are probably right sir.

use a torque wrench and verify that your lugs have at least 105 lbs of foot pressure. There's a TSB on it.

If they already are then what EricB said.
