strange noise
 

i have rescently purchased an 07 rx8 AT.

the car has around 1300 miles on it, however as i was driving home from work i was hearing a problem in the front/mid section in the car. i thought i ran over something and was dragging it. (i have a nice imagination). i pulled over and checked around the car including under the hood. i went home and everything seemed OK, however i am no mechanic. the noise reminded me of clanking or random vibrations. i can't exactly explain what the noise was, but it bothers me to have complications with my brand new and first car.

anyone having similar problems? feedback is much appreciated, ty.

Oddly enough I have just run into this exact same issue. I only have 500kms on my 07 RX8, but mine is a manual transmission. This strange noise started happening a couple of days ago. It is still occuring and it very noticeable when the car is running at about 30kms in either 2nd or 3rd gear. I have made an app't with my Mazda dealer to have this issue checked out. Btw, are you still having this problem?

to this day i haven't had the problem again. i am no car genius, but it could have just been a rock clanking. i don't want to jinx it, but i think it is gone for good. right now i am looking to get a cai. maybe aem, but i need to make sure the 06 fits the 07.
