Then don't turn lock-to-lock when stationary.

It's not good for the steering OR the 19"s.

+1...........why the hell would you do that repeatedly and for any length of time?

And.....at 124mph, you think the steering isn't going to start feeling a little light?

hmm let's see...to park??? when u got a problem i dont think you say "ok dont do this or dont do that",to avoid it i think you're trying to solve it! at 124 mph the wheel should feel heavy that's why the parametric system exist, when low speed in city traffic the wheel is light and when highway cruising should be hevier...

Well mazda IS related to ford.... and fords are very notorious for noisy power steering pumps, listen to some crappy old Fix Or Repair Daily at a parking lot and see if you identify with that.

I think your problems are more related to worn joints in your steering or suspension linkages tho, did you hit some bigass potholes or the like? I had a thunderbird that had squeaky steering and it was because the bearings in the main steering joints were worn to hell. Another symptom of that problem in that car was that over about 80 the steering would start to shudder pretty badly
