steering problem. help!
 

Yesterday, I took my car in for an oil change and some minor warranty work. The steering wheel was clicking so they replaced the clock spring.

On the way home, I was entering a onramp curve at low speed and the DSC activated. I figured the car was just washed so the tires were just slipping. However, this morning, I was driving to work and on a very minor curve in the road, the DSC activated again. Then I noticed that the steering wheel was no longer centered. The car is traveling straight, but the steering wheel is point towards 11 o'clock.

Of course I'm going to take it back today, but does anyone have any suggestions on what's causing this? For example, the technician that replaced the clock spring didn't tighten it down. etc, etc. Thanks for your help.

OMG! its slow at work and I found your post. Yeah this is what I'm experiencing right now. I was thinking it was my alinement or a bad tire but I dont think so. I hear that clicking sound when I turn my wheel to the right then left as I pull into my parking spot at home. I'm going to the dealer on Monday.

i took my car in and they said that the steering wheel was not aligned properly after they replaced the clock spring. they said that since the the steering wheel was not aligned, it fools the dsc sensors. they re-aligned the steering wheel and it seems to be fine now. keep me posted on how yours turns out.

It pretty much allows you to turn the wheel in circles (duh like it is designed) without tangling up any of the wires connected to your controls in the wheel.

My question really is why did the do it?

the clicking behind the steering wheel was attributed to the clock spring. there is a bulletin or service tip on it. then they failed to put his wheel on straight which cause the dsc to trip because the wheels were not turning the appropriate degree the wheel was. so the car thought he was sliding
