stalling and rough idle
stalling and rough idle
I know there has been a ton like this but I have done everything everyone has suggested.
so here it goes I have a 05 rx8 6 speed with a cold air intake and a little over 108000 on the body and there was a used engine put in with about 63000 miles before i got it. I've changed oil, plugs, coils, wires, sea foamed, gutted the cat, cleaned and checked mass airflow sensor, and even replaced the front o2 sensor. I also had to put in a new radiator and ac condenser.so I've just done about every bit of the ideal suggestions that i read.
problems..... cel p0172 (bank 1 too rich) it starts and runs fine but it has a lot of white smoke and after the engine warms up a little the rpms at idle will drop to 500 then spike to 1500 and do it a few time then just die. I just did 1000 mile trip in one day and i dont think my engine is blown cause i made it.. please any help suggestions or anything will help.

Moved to Troubleshooting.
Well, no, you haven't done everything suggested. I applaud you seriously for doing your homework, but you need a compression test. That sounds like failing compression from a blown coolant seal. Why? You've corrected all the other culprits but haven't ruled that one out, and the white smoke on start up is usually a dead give-away that a coolant seal has failed. The coolant slowly leaks into the engine while it sits overnight, eating into the seals and the housing and irons accelerating compression loss. The coolant then makes it harder to start, and the rotors sweep the coolant into the exhaust where it burns off white.

Read your insurance policy, but it is exceedingly rare for insurance companies to cover mechanical failure under their collision or comprehensive coverage...
That's what warranties are for?
