SSV Stuck Open? -- Greddy Turbo
Okay, I have a greddy turbo kit along with some extras (accessport etc.) and lately when I let off the gas to idle the car will either die or bounce anywhere from 500 to 1100 rpms while under idle? I ran a code check with the AP and it said the ssv is stuck open? I checked the ssv and everything seemed intact and operating? what do you think the problem could be?

Yeah, I already checked that...I can move the solenoid by hand. Aside from that I reset the ECU and re-installed the AP and there hasnt been a C.E.L. in a couple days, however it still idles rough from time to time.

Who's calibration are you running on the AccessPORT?

DO NOT RUN THAT CALIBRATION ON A BOOSTED MOTOR!!!
It is (as explained in the instructions that go along with it) only for stock car's that are normally aspirated. It is absolutely amazing that you haven't blown your engine to bits. Stage1 for Stock Vehicles. Minimum of 91 octane fuel. +5.5% HP / +6.7% lb-ft Just follow the link in my sig. |
This will get interesting...

In boost, your AFR should be absolutely no leaner than 12.5:1 !!!!! You should shoot for 11.9:1 up to 12.3:1 where maximum power is. |

Thanks, I'll look into that.
and I don't see how I'm gonna blow up my engine with a air fuel ratio from 14 to 20 in case you don't know: higher numbers AFR = LEANER. lower number AFR = RICHER like MM said, your WAY to lean. somehow you haven't destroyed it yet, but if you keep driving it like that it wont last long. Most people shoot for a lower AFR than MM mentioned just for safety net so they dont pop the motor... like 11.5 or so. (then there are those like Kane around 10.5 hehe) |
14 to 20 ? ... thx gg gl hf.
|
lol
this made me laugh. sometimes ignorance is bliss. If he knew better, he'd be shitting his pants. |
I want to see him try it. MAYBE IT WILL WORK !!!!!

I'm sure some seemed harsh, but I don't think you understand the magnitude of your lack of understanding of the subject. Uninstalling the AccessPORT is not going to fix the problem. You can't run a turbo without proper engine management. If you use the AccessPORT, you MUST have a calibration that is setup for forced induction. If you don't use the AccessPORT, you must have some other form of fuel and ignition control. It is NOT an option. |
om.......fg 14-20?!!?? you sir, are the luckiest SOB alive, not blown your engine yet with 14-20 AFR ration is like winning the lottery
hell, I'd be scared if mine was @ 12....... |
